Screw Jam Cheats: Pro Tips, Help and Strategies
If you just need some strategic tips and general strategy instead of video walkthroughs that show you exactly how to pass a level, we’ve got you covered on that front as well. Screw Jam is more than just a simple game. It can be an exercise in patience, planning and strategy. And while it has a very low barrier to entry (the first few levels are very easy and help you understand the mechanics of the game and how to play), the levels become more and more difficult very quickly. That’s actually awesome, because a game that is consistently too easy just isn’t fun. Similarly, a game that is too difficult just isn’t fun either and Screw Jam finds a perfect spot just between the two bookends.
Screw Jam is packed with hours of fun and entertainment. It’s a game you can play while sitting in the back of an Uber, sitting on the sidelines at a kids soccer game or while waiting for your next customer at your job (Shhh. We won’t tell). Anyway, let’s get into how to be a Screw Jam beast and become the best player in the world, or at least your hood.
Strategic Storage
Use your neutral tray (temporary storage) wisely. Like chess, try to plan ahead. If you only focus on filling the current colored toolbox you won’t pass advanced or hard levels. You’ll quickly find yourself out of options.
Incoming Toolbox
Be aware of the next colored toolbox that will slide in after the current one is filled. Try and add screws of this color to the temporary storage, umm, temporarily, so that when the current toolbox is filled and it slides in, space is automatically freed up in your neutral tray.
Free Up Hidden Screws
Removing glass panels uncovers and frees access to hidden screws. Be aware of the game physics and how panels fall and slide, even when they have a single screw remaining. Sometimes a freeing all but one screw can make a panel slide in a way that reveals all the screws below. Sometimes, removing all but one screw will free NONE of the hidden screws because the panel doesn’t move. So become familiar with how the panels move and slide and how to most efficiently reveal hidden screws.
Using Power-Ups
Don’t use them! Hoard them! Always! OK, just kidding, but on a serious note, use them only when you absolutely need to use them. You’ll regret using them as level difficultly progresses. Save them for when you are really in need and have tried to pass a level without using them. You can always find a Power-Up free solution here on our website, Screw Jam Walkthrough. That said, there are some levels toward the end of each segment that are so difficult they practically require using a power-up. None of them do, but even trying to pass some levels, while watching our corresponding walkthrough video can be difficult.
Remember To Have Fun
Lastly, remember this is only a game and it’s meant to be fun. If you’re getting frustrated or can’t pass a level or you’re procrastinating doing your homework, studying for a test or doing your kids laundry, it may be time to put the phone down and get back to real life and come back to the level with a freshly cleared mind. Often, taking a break from playing allows you to see the level, panels and screws in a different way and helps you find a solution on your own.
